Using Remote Sensing for mapping the urban extension of

Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso

In this project we used Remote Sensing techniques to map urban extensions and urban expansion of
Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. Although there are the survey and planning departments of the city of Ouagadougou, a number of city development is on a very ad-hoc and spontaneous nature. City council has problems maintaining an up to date dataset on size and development of Ouagadougou. Remote Sensing techniques enabled us to map the city extensions and provide the city council with up to date maps of Ouagadougou. More information on this project is found here.
